Most procedures at Advanced medical Imaging are performed under doctor’s orders, so a written referral from your physician is usually required.
Some procedures, such as diagnostic full-body scans and preventive heart/lung screenings do not require a referral.

Yes. In order to efficiently utilize personnel and equipment, all procedures at
Advanced Medical Imaging are performed by appointment. We do our best to schedule appointments the same day or the day after your doctor orders a procedure and try to make your visit as convenient as possible. Sometimes, simple procedures such as x-rays, can be performed on a walk-in basis if you have a written order for the procedure from your doctor. Call (406) 556-5201
for an appointment.

In addition to written orders from your doctor, please bring identification and your insurance card. A list of all medications you take and any allergies you have is also helpful, but not always necessary.

In the past, people with claustrophobia have sometimes been uncomfortable
while in the “tube” of an MRI scanner. The “bore” in modern scanners is both bigger around a shorter, so this is less of a problem. We also offer an “open”
MRI scanner without a bore; the scanning device is in a flat overhead table
with open sides and doesn’t confine the patient.

A radiologist will analyze and interpret the images and prepare a report for your doctor. The report is then sent directly to your physician, who will share the results with you.
